About

Leksey Maltzman is a fiber artist from Philadelphia, PA. While she has been expressing herself through visual art her whole life, she did not start weaving until 2020.

Her work and creative process celebrates feminism, girlhood, and neurodiversity. Making art is her safe place to try new things as she can make mistakes and go with the flow of her colorful and often messy brain without consequence. Inspired by female fiber artists today, Leksey hopes to progress the narrative that fiber art, historically labelled a woman’s craft or hobby, merits recognition as fine art.

In “real life,” Leksey works in digital marketing for a national nonprofit organization. When she’s not working or weaving, you can find her thrift shopping, listening to podcasts and drinking Earl Grey tea.
